My occupation has been that of an Electrical Engineer, free-hand drawing is still an important requirement within this field.
During the Covid period, this was extended somewhat, to include attempts at Vermeer, Da Vinci, and Holbein.
There are never going to be exact solutions to all the problems raised on the subject regarding Vermeer's methods
However, during the whole process, a linear and practical path was followed, I must confess I did feel that
the artist I was trying to emulate was, in a small way, there with me. At times smiling when things
went wrong and failed, or when the wind would carry away the models! The reward being, simply
when things actually worked out, or when something entirely unexpected occurred, and this Series
is an accessible 'aide memoir' for those who may wish to examine, research, or actually follow this
route and perhaps comment for themselves on Academia,edu.
